The Greek Computer Society (GCS) is a non-profit organisation, committed to representing all Greek scientists and professionals engaged in activities relevant to Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Telecommunications and other relevant scientific areas. It was established in 1977 with the vision of becoming a world-class organisation for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)

University of thessaly

The University of Thessaly was founded in 1984 and welcomed its first students in the academic year 1988-1989. Administratively based in Volos, it has developed in the whole region of Thessaly and Central Greece in Volos, Larissa, Lamia, Karditsa and Trikala. The UTH is organized in 8 Schools, 37 Departments and 71 Post-graduate Study Programs.

Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics

The Department has operated since 2004. It is an innovative department in the field of applied sciences as it covers a wide range of areas, both in the field of Informatics and in the field of its applications in Biomedicine. The students receive a strong background in the broader IT section as well as in the development of Health Information Systems and software for public/private medical units and organization.
